They bring “attitude” to everything. I mean the BEST “battitude”! Paul’s a twin too. They tried a few times to play a trick or two on us but it didn’t work. How can you play a trick on your portrait photographer whose been photographing you all day? helllllo! You boys forgot to switch your vests. Event Specialist Peggy Shelvin at the helm was simply wonderful to work with! too much fun actually… why did I say work? This was a celebration east coast style. It seems our season is quite filled with west coast girlz meeting east coast boyz! You must stay on our BLOG longer to find these dynamic couples. Best man speech… “kate deserves to have a great man” (Paul’s twin stated)… “Good thing she met you Paul before she met someone great.” That’s just plain wrong! We love you Paul, you and Kate are AWESOME. We’d do it all over again in a NY heartbeat via Sherwood Country Club.

The day finally came for Laura and Scott, and oh what a day! This family ROCKS! The venue was the beautifully remodeled North Ranch Country Club located at 4761 Valley Spring Drive Westlake Village, CA 91362-4357 Ph: (805) 496-1995 Rachel Gluckman, Director of Catering at North Ranch Country Club, worked very closely with Laura and her family to give her the wedding of her dreams. Well done Rachel! Laura entered the day with such ease, I remember when Joey showed Laura a portrait of herself in the back of his camera while Laura was relaxing at the Westlake Village Hyatt 880 South Westlake Boulevard Westlake Village, CA 91361 Ph:(805) 557-1234 prior to “I Do”… She was soooo happy, yay! “I look beautiful”! The same portrait was shown to Laura’s father and he cried! How our photography speaks to everyone, differently. It’s special. It’s why we do what we do. We LOVE it. let me tell you about our friends heather and joel. yes friends. you see we met heather and joel some time ago when they were looking for a photographer for their wedding at the Hartley Botanica…back in august 2009. no, you did not read that incorrectly. 2009 – 2years. now, in those 2 years, that gave us some time to reeeeeealy get to know both of them very well. during our “courtship” they scheduled a few surprise visits at our bridal booths throughout southern california. each surprise visit i was reminded why i enjoyed this couple so much…it was like playing in a sand box and having to be told to “settle down”. kinda an oxymoron in my opinion. heather and joel made me laugh. the kinda of laugh that came from the gut. “they had me at hello”. we shared a wonderful dinner on the heals of a great day teaching them everything they needed to know about their “honeymoon” camera, had an awesome time shooting their engagement session and at any given day – getting to know them was a barrel of fun. when things got difficult we understood because heather and joel were more than our b&g… they had a place in our “hearts”. perfect segue if i may say… “their wedding” was sooooooooooooooooo much fun. they had a beautiful “alice in wonderland” theme garden wedding at Hartley Botanica , 4465 Balcom Canyon Road Somis, California (805) 523-9846 yep, with the queen of hearts, mad hatter and some pretty amazing details that sent me loopy! heather and joel made sure to pay close attention to a lot of details for their wedding personally. where they found the “time”…i’m not sure (sorry for the punnies). i’ve enjoyed each and every wedding that we have been blessed to have been invited as the photographer. heather and joel’s wedding had special meaning to us. we had shared so much in the process that we truly felt that we were invited and not simply “hired” to photograph their story. karen and i will always be grateful to heather and joel for sharing with us the highs and the lows of planning a lifetime and teaching us that “blurred” business relationships has its rewards. Lot’s of LOVE and laughs, tooo many to count and why would we? XO – K&J

We thought you might enjoy seeing chelsea and mark’s engagement and wedding all in one BLOG post. We so enjoy traveling to santa barbara for our couples. It’s our home away from home! We met chelsea and mark for their eSession a month prior to their wedding to walk the streets of santa barbara, and also some beach and bike play near cabrillo was a must. It was easy and fun to do, everything is in walking distance! When Joey and I share time with our SB couples it’s like we are on “island time.” If you don’t know what that means you have to look it up and starting living it. Santa Barbara is the exception! Our photography takes time and then holds it still forever, literally! Joey LOVES photographing new places, and so do I. Did I mention the open firepit for the assorted meats they grilled? It was like being in our backyard, but better! We are like kids in a candy store! Chelsea and Mark you brought it, just like you said you would and we soooo salute’ you.

Angie and Jason celebrated their Wedding Day filled with familia on the beautiful grounds of the Westlake Village Inn 31943 Agoura Road Westlake Village, CA 91361 Tel: 818-889-0230. They chose their ceremony site just outside the gorgeous Mediterraneo Restaurant located at 32037 Agoura Road Westlake Village, CA 91361 Tel: (818) 889-9105 for those having lunch that day on the patio they were in for a real visual treat. The Wedding was simply romantic and elegant and Angie and her mom took their time walking down the bridal path with such poise and grace… To a dashing Jason waiting. This day was much anticipated for our couple and we have to give them the biggest props ever for their first dance. It was right out of a movie, many movies actually. They even had dance moves that would rival ginger and fred astaire. Awesome. Well done, well stated.

It was the kind of wedding that most girls dream about… Except this isn’t most girls… This is our bride Chrissy! She wanted to marry her best friend Jason and have an Alice in Wonderland style wedding! Well, when we met with her the event was planned quite differently. So much so when chrissy and jason spoke with David Tutera of my fair wedding he decided to transform her wedding into the one she always dreamed of. The only catch here is that everything is a surprise! She told David, I want to keep my photographers “Joey and Karen.” We are sooooo there! She was able to get married in Black, yes, black. She was able to let go and have David Tutera share his amazing gifts of giving and his impeccable sense of style with her that this wonderland wedding was like no other! It really was off the charts! Bride Chrissy and fiancé Jason share a love for literature, so when it came time to decide on a theme for their wedding, they thought that Lewis Carroll’s classic tale “Alice in Wonderland” would be perfect. But when David Tutera meets with the bride to see what she’s come up with, he finds that Chrissy has gone way too far! From the black and white striped socks she plans to wear under her black bridal gown to the chin-strapped top hats she’s putting on her bridesmaids, this wedding is in need of a major rewrite!

With only three weeks before the wedding, David rushes into action, changing Chrissy’s dreary, gothic bridal gown to an elegant and dramatic gown worthy of her classic theme, gives the bridesmaids much needed color in their dresses, and moving the venue from a local club to a Hollywood soundstage.
