if you recall, sarah and jon’s engagement session with us at atomic records, 3812 West Magnolia Boulevard Burbank, CA 91505 (818)848-7090 and yummy cupcakes 2918 West Magnolia Boulevard, Burbank – (818)558-1080 a few weeks back. well, you’ll see why we were soooooooooooooooo excited to photograph sarah’s bridal editorial at the gardens of the world, 2001 Thousand Oaks Boulevard Thousand Oaks, CA 91362 (805)557-1135. sarah has a real command of her style and she owns it! she showed karen and i her details of her gown, shoes, embroidered kicks, floral Parasol and let us follow her lead. i have mentioned this a few times but its true. and it doesn’t get old saying so. we can have all the ideas in the world when it comes to shooting an editorial but not until i set eyes on the brides gown does the vision take shape. all we were told was that sarah sooooooooooooo wanted us to photograph her bridal editorial and she soooooooooooooo wanted to photograph her editorial at the gardens of the world. judging from the pictures you can see why we couldn’t wait. sarah too.
the garden is Owned and operated by the Hogan Family Foundation so we were extremely grateful to marianne and larry for giving us this very unique and special day in their beautiful gardens. the gardens are an oasis filled with surprising blooms and clusters of brilliant colors that is quite easy to get lost in “taking it all in”. after our editorial karen unpacked her, now infamous, “stuffed to the gills” picnic basket and we shared a picnic with sarah, her ma, karen and gorpo (aka. joey). as i always say… “you have to be nice to me, cuz i don’t do well with mean people and you have to feed me. the best way to celebrate a celebration is to celebrate.” capisce? dua maka myselfa cler? – said in my best italian accent.
